Neutral Networks

Today the Network is the space where many entities (public or private, manufacturing or service, etc.) carry out their main activities.

A part of these activities consists of pure access to the typical Internet tools: web and e-mail.

Another increasing part is represented by the use of peer to peer media: phone systems, video-conference and collaboration tools.

The entities, that are nodes of this space, are connected each other by the networks built by telecommunication operators, called “telcos”.

For this reason, networks should be:

• neutral regarding the crossing data, their origin and destination;
• able to assign public IP addresses to ensure reachability to all the organisational services;
• ubiquitous, fast and reliable.

The telcos are modifying their networks to be able to privilege some sites or contents respect to others. Of course, these networks have a lower value for the entities that have based their activities over them.
