Mobile Office of "Protezione Civile"
The process of emergency management in an area at risk or where an event has already occurred, is the crucial stage to minimize the impact of the same territory and population, and sometimes it is also crucial for rescue of lives. It is therefore imperative to adopt measures and resources as efficient as possible to facilitate the activities of the "Protezione Civile" and for making observations, communications and anything else necessary to the performance of operations. This was the "Protezione Civile" of Molise region stands out as opening new horizons towards technology. All the technological infrastructure adequately supports the activities of ordinary or emergency service, giving full evidence of what the technology is the essential condition for the effective functioning of "Protezione Civile". To be fully effective on the ground and to make the most of the innovations adopted at the regional branch, the Regional Department of "Protezione Civile" of Molise Region has set up a Mobile Office comprised of a tractor, the size and characteristics typical a camper but used for office last generation and a cart with numerous instruments to enable full connectivity of Mobile with other offices in the region, particularly Campochiaro and Campobasso (CB).
IP transport, which takes place through a satellite connection (Telespazio), is secure and accelerated by VPN (Virtual Private Network) established by the headquarters of Campobasso and built with equipment MajorVPN / SAT, tested and belonging to the wide range of devices of the family MajorNet®. The connection between the Office Mobile and the truck is done through the head on Multifunction installed telescopic pole cart, equipped with among other motorized camera IP high-performance, provide the support system for managing the wireless link between the systems the cart and systems of Mobile.
The videosystem consists of a motorized camera IP high-performance (capable of making legible number plate cars away hundreds of meters) with an advanced optical zoom, with choice of the remote location (including from operations rooms, web server), with a system of damping vibrations.
With a VPN with the Operating Room, all the IP services provided by the "Protezione Civile" can be used inside of Mobile Office:
This system allows the trip by staff in Mobile to communicate with the Operating Room in areas where GSM coverage is not guaranteed but above all to be reached by telephone from outside.

The Mobile Office has a system for connecting to IP services provided at the Unified Operations Room such as Internet, mail, fax, SMS, VoIP and File Server.
The integration of services and resources between the cart and IP Mobile Office, is supposed to head multifunction that has a wireless IP Base Station at 5.4 GHz in OFDM modulation (HiperLAN). This choice is conditioned by the need to make the Mobile Office free to move around the range of multifunction head (for several Km) for excursions and surveys the scene in which the event occurred, so as to allow the sending Data Operating Room for the management of the emergency.
Particular emphasis was placed on the choice of equipment of MajorNet: are, in fact, used solid state devices (without moving parts) were used, also, adequate anchorage systems for absorbing vibrations in order to reduce the risk of breakage or breakdowns caused by frequent transport.
